Basically what Birchbox is a beauty subscription. You pay $10 a month and they mail you a box full of beauty products that are either up and coming, something new to try out, or an oldie but goodie. The premise is to get you to try out beauty products before you go out and buy the full sized thing!
Now this is a great idea because I have TONS of unused beauty products laying around my house because they just didn't work out for me. If there was a Salvation Army just dedicated to beauty products that would be AWESOME!...but there isn't.

The boxes arrive generally on the 10th of each month. Today is the 11th and I finally got mine!
What comes in your box includes your samples (obviously) but note cards. For the December box there was a Happy Holidays card (seen on the left) and a list of all the products and what they are used for (right).

Now the sample sizes seem to vary. The BLOW thickening mist and the Stila Kitten lip glaze seem to have the most product.
The perfume (which in all honesty I'll probably never use) is teenie tiny.
The Jouer sample seems like it'll last me a week or so if I were to use it everyday.
The other idea behind Birchbox is to literally be to next Sephora. They want you to test out all the products first...then by them (apparently at a discount or based on some point system) at their online store.
I've read that some people got face masks and others got BLOW heat tamer sprays. This means that Birchbo is doing their best to cater to YOUR needs!
I happily recommend this service and it would make a great gift for someone as well!
