I've been living in Los Angeles all my life (that's 20+ years yo!) and only when I started getting into my 20s did I actually care about where I ate.
Trendiness, glamour, decorations, hipness....all suddenly became a factor into my restaurant choices.
Yelp&word of mouth also help a lot.
So on Saturday I was totally craving breakfast/brunch foods.
First we ventured off to Los Feliz to try and eat at Alcove Bakery&Cafe. Alas..the long line proved to be too much and we left to head out to Hollywood to try the famed Griddle Cafe.
It was almost 2 o'clock so I figured the brunch/breakfast/lunch lines would be pretty much gone.
Located almost literally a block away from the famous Laugh Factory and on the same block as the Director's Guild of America...you really wouldn't think Griddle Cafe was that special from the outside. It's only when there are hoards of people standing outside would you say "hmm..this place might be something".
I waited just 10 mins to get a table (surprising) which was a plus.
That gave me time to browse through the crazy menu and pick the 1 thing I would eat.

This was the only part of the menu I actually cared about..the griddle stuff. Look at the sheer number of different kinds of pancakes you can have! Pumpkin, espresso, blueberry, red velvet...OH MY!
I knew I wanted something with fruit so it left me with blueberry and strawberry.
The "Hear Me Roar" pancakes stood out to me because it had frosted flakes! YUM!

Those 3 pictures were the only I could take without totally making someone feel awkward. The restaurant is small and VERY crowded making me feel pretty much like a sardine.
As much as I wanted to snap photos of the interior...I also didn't want to ruin someone's lovely meal out.
If you are ever craving unique and large pancakes...head on down to Griddle Cafe on Sunset Blvd!
